Chromcraft: A Near-Century of Innovation in Furniture Design
Chromcraft, a respected whole-home resource, boasts a storied history of pushing the boundaries when it comes to introducing innovative product offerings. From the iconic Sculpta chair featured on the futuristic sets of the 1960s Star Trek series to dining sets exported to diverse destinations such as Australia, South Africa, and Israel, the company has consistently embarked on new ventures. This tradition continues with the introduction of its latest expansion, perfectly timed for the High Point Market: the Newport collection for McKenzie & Co. Outdoor.
According to David Urbanick, the Vice President of Chromcraft, "We've been diligently working on this project for quite some time. Building upon the success of our McKenzie & Co. Collection Modular line for indoor spaces, we are introducing modular seating for outdoor use."
The inaugural McKenzie & Co. Outdoor collection presents an impressive array of 15 distinct SKUs and is scheduled to ship in late December. The Armless Modular chair, a highlight of the collection, is priced between $599 and $699. Notable features of this collection encompass Chromcraft's patented "Comfort Flexx" spring back, innovative "Attachables" arms, and table options that seamlessly integrate into the seating. The collection also includes sturdy aluminum frames and structures, available in three captivating powder coat finishes: Coal Black, Anthracite Gray, and Cloud White, along with the utilization of Culp's Outdoor LiveSmart fabrics designed to combine style and durability.
Urbanick underscored the shifting consumer preferences and how the collection aligns seamlessly with prevailing trends: "In today's world, more and more individuals prioritize their well-being and surroundings, including their outdoor spaces. People are spending an increasing amount of time outdoors and are committed to making these spaces not only more inviting but also stylish and enjoyable."
He further noted, "Expanding upon the success of our indoor Modular program, which already encompasses three remarkable collections, this foray into outdoor seating represents a natural progression for our business. The rapid growth we are witnessing directly correlates with the growing demand from consumers for flexible seating options within their homes. Our modular seating, with its limitless configurability, meets this burgeoning need perfectly."
