The Groundbreaking Expansion of Chromcraft: Introducing the Newport Outdoor Collection for McKenzie & Co.

From the Sculpta chair that appeared on the set of the sci-fi Star Trek series in the 1960s to dining sets exported overseas to Australia, South Africa and Israel, whole-home resource Chromcraft has a long history of venturing into new product territories, and the company continues the trend with its latest category expansion. Now it's arrived in time for the High Point Market, and the company is introducing its latest addition to the line: the Newport Collection for McKenzie & Co. Outdoor.



"We’ve been working on this for quite some time," said David Urbanick, vice president. "Based on the success of our McKenzie & Co. Modular line for indoors, we are introducing modular seating for outdoors."

The first-ever McKenzie & Co. Outdoor collection is set to comprise 15 unique SKUs, with shipping scheduled for late December. The retail pricing falls in the range of $599 to $699 for the Armless Modular chair, and the collection boasts an array of features, encompassing Chromcraft's patented "Comfort Flexx" spring back, innovative "Attachables" arms, and versatile table options that seamlessly integrate into the seating. Furthermore, it features robust aluminum frames and structures available in three captivating powder coat finishes, namely Coal Black, Anthracite Gray, and Cloud White, and is upholstered in Culp's Outdoor LiveSmart fabrics.

"Based on today’s consumer lifestyles, more and more people are concerned about their health and their surroundings, including their outdoor spaces,” Urbanick said. "People are spending more time outdoors and are making their outdoor spaces more livable, comfortable, stylish and enjoyable." 

"With the success of our indoor Modular program (three collections), this is a natural extension of that business," he added. "The pace of growth is a direct result of the need of the consumer for more flexible seating choices for their homes. Our modular seating with infinite configurability provides the answers to that growing consumer need."
